Classical Foil Invitational Tournament
The AHF, in conjunction with the SUNY Purchase Fencing Club, will host a classical foil tournament, to be held on Saturday, March 29th, 2008.
Participation is by invitation only. This event is being held to provide a forum for those 17-25 years of age who are in beginning stages of their classical fencing training to test their skills in a tournament format.
This tournament is open to the public as spectators. No video taping or flash photography of the tournament will be permitted. There will be demonstrations of classical and historical fencing prior to the tournament as well as a small exhibit of classical fencing.
Schedule
12:00 - 12:30: Exhibit for the public/Weapons & Equipment inspection for participants.
12:30 - 1:00: Demonstrations of Classical and Historical Fencing.
1:00 - 3:30: Tournament.
3:30 - 4:00: Finals and Prizes awarded.
4:00 - 5:00: Q&A for public/ free fencing for participants.
Tournament Details
Participants will fence in 1 of 3 brackets based on experience. The standards of classical form will be rigorously enforced and excellence in form & technique will be taken into account in the judging. For more information please read the rules for foil fencing. Each participant is responsible for reading and understanding the rules prior to the tournament.
