Meetings
The AHF will have its annual membership meeting on Friday, July 14 at 8:30pm at St. Peter's college, Yanitelli Center, Jersey City, NJ. A second meeting will be held on Saturday, July 15 at 5:30 PM in order to vote on the changes proposed during Friday's meeting. It is important for all voting members to attend and make their voices heard.
Administrative
The Board of Governors is happy to announce the appointment of David M. Cvet to the AHF Board. Mr. Cvet will be filling the position left vacant due to the resignation of John Kovacs, who is leaving due to a change in time constraints and priorities. We wish Mr. Kovacs every success in his new endeavors, and take this opportunity to welcome Mr. Cvet. We have the utmost confidence in his ability, sincerity and dedication, all of which will definitely make him a valued member of the AHF Board.

Smallsword Seminar and Tournament

Maestro Ramón Martínez will teach a seminar on French smallsword technique on Saturday the 15th. On Sunday, there will be a small sword tournament in two parts: academic and combative. A Double-Edged Weapon: The Sword as Icon and Artifact

"From the European knight to the Japanese samurai, from the Book of Genesis to Star Wars, the sword has held a unique fascination for people around the world. This exhibition will offer selections from the Higgins' collection of bladed weapons ranging from the medieval warrior to the modern Freemason, including examples from such places as Montenegro, Kenya, and India."

Second Annual Western Martial Arts Workshop

"The Academy of European Medieval Martial Arts (AEMMA) is proud to host the second annual International Western Martial Arts Workshop. The focus of the workshop will cover historical martial arts during the time frame of the medieval and renaissance periods. The workshop will include vendor displays of arms & armour, lectures and presentations by notable individuals, including a presentation on the infamous I.33 manuscript.
"Weapons covered in this workshop will include: longsword, sword & shield, pole-axe, rapier, rapier & dagger, schlager, dusak, dagger, quarter-staff and unarmed techniques. Weapons will be either wooden "wasters" or combat-ready steel."
