From the Vice President
The main focus of the AHF has been and will continue to be education. Toward the end of November 2000, the AHF will officially launch its "For Members Only" section of the website. This section will contain research material, specific information on techniques of all periods, a carefully researched multilingual glossary of terminology as used and defined within each historical period, guidelines for examining and evaluating antique weapons for purchase, historical training methods, plus much more.
While much of the information, time and energy will be put into the "Members Only" section, we will also continue to add articles and informative materials to the entire Website. In addition, to facilitate accessibility to AHF sponsored events, we are planning to host the "Weekend of the Rapier" seminar/tournament in the Virginia-Washington D.C. area and the "Weekend of the Smallsword II" in Colorado. A calendar page is being added to the website which will list the year's events.
We ask that you please be patient with us as all this information takes time to compile. We encourage all interested members to participate and add your voice by volunteering your skills, expertise or time.
Sincerely,
Jeannette Acosta-Martínez
Vice-President
